SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to evolve our Atlassian ecosystem, with a primary focus on Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket. This role serves as the bridge between stakeholders, engineering teams, and IT, ensuring that Jira and Confluence are configured, governed, and continuously improved to support scalable, efficient workflows.

The ideal candidate is both process-oriented and technically savvy, with hands-on experience translating business needs into workflows, configurations, automations, and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Atlassian support, addressing user questions, troubleshooting issues, licensing, and coordinating with IT for resolution.
  • Administer Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket configuration, including project/spaces, permissions, groups, roles, and global settings.
  • Maintain and improve business processes by configuring and managing workflows, issue types, request types, forms, and related schemes.
  • Manage and prioritize enhancement and plugin requests and platform changes by maintaining a backlog, coordinating approvals, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain Jira automation rules by reviewing requests, updating existing rules, and monitoring for accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor and improve data quality by supporting governance standards, field usage guidance, and reporting practices.
  • Document standards, best practices, and operating procedures in Confluence to ensure consistent platform use.
  • Provide user support, training, and enablement materials to help teams use Jira and Confluence effectively.
  • Assist with tool governance, change coordination, and scalability planning to support long-term platform stability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years’ experience working with the Atlassian Product Suite at the Administrator level with demonstrated experience:
  • Configuring Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, permission schemes, notification schemes, and security settings.
  • Advanced JQL (Jira Query Language) for filters, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Automation rules, dashboards, and tools like eazyBI, Structure, or Advanced Roadmaps.
  • Creating/managing Confluence spaces, pages, macros, and integrating with Jira projects.
  • Managing users, roles, permissions, and groups.
  • Installing, testing, and managing plugins/add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner, Tempo).
  • Proven experience with Agile scrum methodology.
  • Strong sense of urgency, drive, attention to detail, and commitment to timely deliverables.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.

Desired

  • Atlassian certifications highly valued:
  • ACP-120 Jira Administrator for Cloud
  • ACP-620 Managing Jira Projects for Cloud
  • Other relevant: Managing Jira Service Projects, Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin
  • ITIL certification
  • Integrations with tools like ServiceNow, Bitbucket, Slack, or external APIs.
  • Performance tuning, backups, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • The ability to problem-solve and make decisions (such as scheduling and prioritizing work tasks, organizing materials, and keeping project managers informed of potential conflicts).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
