SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support our Finance and Cost Accounting teams by defining, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for system enhancements and new technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of finance processes—particularly in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting—and experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

This role bridges business and technical teams, ensuring that financial data, systems, and processes operate with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Operations to analyze current processes and identify opportunities for system improvement or automation.
  • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for ERP and financial applications.
  • Support configuration, testing, and deployment of financial modules—such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, and Project Accounting.
  • Work closely with IT developers and system integrators to ensure solutions align with business objectives and accounting principles.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, user stories, data flow diagrams, and test scripts.
  • Ensure data integrity and traceability across cost accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new tools or system upgrades related to financial planning, cost tracking, and audit compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and finance leadership to support SOX and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ongoing user support and training to ensure adoption and effective use of new financial systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting finance functions in enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, and project cost tracking in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting in the definition of systems strategy, gathering and documenting business requirements, testing (UAT), and business user training.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.

Desired

  • 5+ years’ experience in ERP’s development and implementation, specifically Odoo.
  • Strong Atlassian product experience using Agile methodologies such as Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capable of working in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
  • Works well on a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.
  • Unafraid to speak up and ask questions and capable of formulating solutions or recommendations.
  • Recognizes the importance / gravity of project timeline and milestones.
  • Willingness to learn and operate under non-standard procedures, as necessary.
