SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering and solution definition for a new secure, collaborative customer portal. This platform will enable our teams and external partners to safely share confidential data, communicate, and collaborate across company boundaries. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, and IT Cybersecurity—to design and deliver an intuitive, secure, and scalable solution that replaces current manual and unsecure methods such as email-based data exchanges.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead requirements elicitation from internal business units, external customers, and vendors to define business needs and technical specifications for a new collaboration and data-sharing application.
- Document business processes, use cases, data flows, and integration points between the customer portal and mission-critical systems (e.g., PLM, ERP, document management systems).
- Assess and benchmark current capabilities to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and security gaps in how data and design artifacts are currently shared.
- Collaborate with IT Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity, export control, and data classification standards.
- Translate business requirements into functional requirements and user stories that development teams can act on.
- Support vendor and solution evaluations for potential software platforms or frameworks that meet business and security needs.
- Facilitate workshops, demos, and testing sessions with stakeholders to validate requirements and proposed solutions.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business users to ensure that delivered functionality aligns with expectations.
- Develop documentation such as process maps, requirements traceability matrices, and training materials for deployment and adoption.
- Manage vendor relationships for collaboration and portal solutions, ensuring clear communication on product capabilities, licensing models, and roadmap updates.
- Track and manage software licenses and user allocations to ensure compliance, cost control, and optimal usage across teams.
- Coordinate renewals and true-ups with Procurement and Finance to maintain accurate licensing records and budget forecasts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in enterprise application development or implementation.
- Proven experience collecting and translating requirements for portal, collaboration, or document-sharing platforms.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Desired
- Experience with PLM, ERP, or document management system integrations.
- Familiarity with aerospace or defense industry security and compliance requirements (e.g., ITAR, CUI).
- Background in cloud-based collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Confluence, or custom web portal solutions.
- Strong understanding of secure data transfer principles, access control, and user authentication/authorization models.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams across IT, Engineering, and Operations.
- Experience managing software vendors, licensing, and renewals in a corporate IT environment.
