Position Purpose:
The Motor Vehicle Operator position is to transport finished goods, raw materials, and equipment for the erection of finished goods in a safe manner to jobsites throughout Texas.
Responsibilities include:
- Performs “shuttle” service of trailers to crane to include the stacking of trailers.
- Takes direction from Dispatcher, job site foreman, or field coordinator and or his designee.
- Ensures that loads are properly secured for transport and operates in a safe manner.
- Performs pre-trip/post-trip vehicle and trailer inspection for defects. Reports said defects to the appropriate department.
- Job site cleanup as needed.
- Comply with, Texas Department of Public Safety CVE rules and regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations. OSHA safety and health rules.
- Keep truck in good working order and clean in appearance as to represent the company in public.
- Drive in a safe manner as to represent the company in regards to public safety.
- Plan routes using maps, computer, and or GPS.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Travel
May be required to travel distances up to the maximum amount allowed by Federal and State mandated Hours of Service including out of state travel. May be required to stay overnight at the jobsite for shuttling as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- Must possess a current Class A CDL with Air Brakes Endorsement
- 1 years of related experience operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Must possess and maintain a Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) or its equivalent.
- Reading and comprehending over-dimensional permits
- Load Securement
- Logbook Compliance

- Flatbed Transportation
- Maintenance of tractor trailers and associated equipment.
- CDL Training Program
- Clean Driving Record
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
