to support our aquatics swim lessons program The Position
- The Position:
- Ensures a safe environment for the students in the swim lesson program.
- Plans, organizes and leads program activities.
- Develops daily lesson plans.
- Sets up equipment for scheduled activities.
- Ensures that all policies, rules, and regulations are observed and that no safety hazard is created.
- Instructs various levels of classes, Infant to adult years old.
- Instructs swim lessons in accordance with the Cities standards.
- Instructs all lessons with safety and the students' self-esteem foremost in mind.
- Ability to verbally communicate with patron, public and staff effectively.
- Maintains skill accomplishment records for every class and of every student.
- Discusses students' progress with parents.
- Maintains all swim lesson equipment.
- Cleans program areas after completion of activities and at end of work day.
- Attends scheduled in-service trainings.
- Demonstrates cooperative behavior with team, supervisor and the public.
- Be willing to substitute for others, and
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2025.
During the summer months, must be able to work mornings/mid-day (8:30 am - 1:00 pm) and afternoons/early evenings (3:30 pm - 7:00 pm), Monday through Thursday with an occasional Friday. Supplemental Information
- Candidates must be knowledgeable and be able to swim Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle (front crawl), Backstroke, Sidestroke, and Elementary Backstroke.
