Position Overview

The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support. Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

Roles and Responsibilities

(Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
  • Develop models that help with decision-making
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
  • Assist and train team members on how to use the system which includes providing guidance to the team on existing tools, as well as assisting them with researching issues.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
  • Research, implement, and support process improvement efforts when necessary.
  • Assist team members in solving problems relating to their tasks, which may relate to system implementation
  • Review, maintain, and suggest modifications as appropriate, to the current procedures and processes.
  • Assist finance with audits, SOX requirements and other outside accounting requirements when needed.
  • Execute other projects and duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

Required

  • 2 or more years of increasing experience in accounting systems and general accounting.
  • BS/MS Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multitask as well as work independently.
  • Must be able to maintain quality of work and at the same time meet multiple deadlines as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness to others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Must be a strong communicator coupled with the ability to maintain open communication with customers, internal employees and managers as needed.

Preferred

  • Prior experience and knowledge of the Aggregate and Construction Materials industry

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Expert in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
