Position Overview
The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support. Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
Roles and Responsibilities
(Essential Duties and Functions)
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
- Develop models that help with decision-making
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
- Assist and train team members on how to use the system which includes providing guidance to the team on existing tools, as well as assisting them with researching issues.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
- Research, implement, and support process improvement efforts when necessary.
- Assist team members in solving problems relating to their tasks, which may relate to system implementation
- Review, maintain, and suggest modifications as appropriate, to the current procedures and processes.
- Assist finance with audits, SOX requirements and other outside accounting requirements when needed.
- Execute other projects and duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Required
- 2 or more years of increasing experience in accounting systems and general accounting.
- BS/MS Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Must be able to prioritize, multitask as well as work independently.
- Must be able to maintain quality of work and at the same time meet multiple deadlines as required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness to others.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Must be a strong communicator coupled with the ability to maintain open communication with customers, internal employees and managers as needed.
Preferred
- Prior experience and knowledge of the Aggregate and Construction Materials industry
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
- Expert in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A track record of following through on commitments.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
