- Designates all types of utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment, project field documentation and survey, and vacuum excavation to expose utilities \n
- Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications \n
- Manages individual 2D QL-B (2DB) & 3D QL-B (3DB) mapping projects \n
- Capability to supervise one individual
- \n
- Selects and applies non-standard surface geophysical equipment and accessories to accurately designate complex public and private underground utility systems \n
- Leads a crew employing vacuum excavators and associated equipment to excavate and backfill test holes on existing utilities at deeper than average depths and/or under other than average conditions \n
- Employs total station survey equipment to collect horizontal data QL-A test holes and potholing \n
- Operates RTK GPR and conventional survey equipment to collect horizontal and vertical data \n
- Utilizes GIS based survey equipment \n
- Coordinates with clients, utility owners, property owners, etc. in the field \n
- Coordinates with providers of 3rd party services in the field. \n
- Comprehends and interprets of planimetric and design plans, profiles and cross sections, utility records, etc. \n
What You Bring to SAM

- High School Diploma \n
- Flexibility to travel is a must \n
- (2-5) years of SUE field experience preferred \n
- Experience working as a “lead” designator on designating projects for professional or non-professional services \n
- Survey experience preferred but not required \n
- Military experience is a plus \n

Job Description

Your Impact at SAM
- Designates all types of utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment, project field documentation and survey, and vacuum excavation to expose utilities
- Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications
- Manages individual 2D QL-B (2DB) & 3D QL-B (3DB) mapping projects
- Capability to supervise one individual
- Selects and applies non-standard surface geophysical equipment and accessories to accurately designate complex public and private underground utility systems
- Leads a crew employing vacuum excavators and associated equipment to excavate and backfill test holes on existing utilities at deeper than average depths and/or under other than average conditions
- Employs total station survey equipment to collect horizontal data QL-A test holes and potholing
- Operates RTK GPR and conventional survey equipment to collect horizontal and vertical data
- Utilizes GIS based survey equipment
- Coordinates with clients, utility owners, property owners, etc. in the field
- Coordinates with providers of 3rd party services in the field.
- Comprehends and interprets of planimetric and design plans, profiles and cross sections, utility records, etc.
What You Bring to SAM
- High School Diploma
- Flexibility to travel is a must
- (2-5) years of SUE field experience preferred
- Experience working as a “lead” designator on designating projects for professional or non-professional services
- Survey experience preferred but not required
- Military experience is a plus
