NFM’s Warehouse Manager II will manage and coordinate staff to accomplish receiving, distributing, loading, and customer pick-ups in our distribution center. This person will also be responsible for controlling operating expenses, while maintain accurate inventory of merchandise.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

  • Oversee: Direct the staff and supervisors in charge of unloading of merchandise from all product categories coming to the warehouse
  • Accuracy: Manage verification that all material received is correct product and quantity and that it is in good condition
  • Plan: Ensure processes are in place to have product received into system, assigned to location, and tagged correctly
  • Develop: Create the appropriate criteria for the loading of all products to be transferred from/within the distribution center
  • Monitor: Review staff performance to ensure that process requirements are met
  • Collaborate: Facilitate working relationships and communication between vendors and Nebraska Furniture Mart
  • Safety: Maintain staff member performance to confirm proper lifting, loading and machine operating techniques are being used

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3 years’ warehouse experience that included any of the following: inventory management, material handling, traffic/receiving, and distribution/delivery
  • 5 years supervisory or management experience
  • 1-year appliance, flooring, or electronics product knowledge
  • Experience managing labor and non-labor costs
  • Knowledge of OSHA, fire protection systems, building security, and safety program
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Basic computer experience
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
