Job Summary
The Director, Business Applications is a senior technology leadership role responsible for defining strategy, driving execution, and guiding the continuous evolution of enterprise business applications that support Finance, Supply Chain Planning (SCP), Manufacturing, and other core operational functions. The role ensures the delivery and modernization of system-of-record platforms, with a strong emphasis on ERP and enterprise application ecosystems.
This role partners closely with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and strengthen operational performance, and is accountable for translating business needs into delivered application capabilities. The Director collaborates closely with Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, Infrastructure & Platform Services, and Digital Experience to ensure business applications are scalable, integrated, secure, and aligned to enterprise standards.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Own the enterprise business application portfolio, including ERP and related Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing systems.
- Establish application roadmaps aligned to business priorities and operational needs.
- Serve as the primary technology partner to Finance, SCP, Manufacturing, and other operational leaders.
- Ensure applications reliably support day-to-day operations and business-critical processes.
- Lead ERP modernization initiatives, including cloud migration and platform upgrades.
- Ensure enterprise application solutions are designed using human-centered and workflow-informed principles, balancing standardization with usability to improve adoption and realized business value.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure ERP solutions align with enterprise standards including data, and security standards.
- Manage system integrators and vendors supporting ERP transformation initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders to support change readiness, adoption, and sustained value realization.
- Own execution and delivery of application initiatives, enhancements, and major programs.
- Provide direction and oversight to embedded project and program management resources.
- Balance delivery capacity, business demand, risk, and sequencing to ensure predictable outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate responses to application-related operational disruptions and incidents.
- Work closely with Software Engineering teams to deliver integrations, extensions, and custom capabilities.
- Partner with Infrastructure & Platform Services to ensure application availability, performance, and resilience.
- Collaborate with Digital Experience leaders to ensure seamless end-to-end workflows across customer- and associate-facing experiences.
- Ensure business applications comply with security, audit, regulatory, and data governance requirements.
- Establish and maintain appropriate application lifecycle governance and controls.
- Build and lead high-performing business application teams, providing effective leadership, performance management and development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 10 years of industry experience.
- 5 years leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading ERP implementations or cloud migrations.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business needs into delivered, adoptable application capabilities.
- Experience designing solutions that balance standardization with usability.
- Proven stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to travel to various work locations as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with major ERP platforms (Oracle Fusion/EBS, SAP S/4HANA, or similar).
- Strong background supporting Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing organizations.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, supply chain planning tools, and financial platforms.
- Exposure to cloud architecture, integration platforms, and data governance.
- Experience applying human-centered design principles in enterprise or operational systems.
- Program/project management or continuous improvement methodologies.
