Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Configuration Engineer with deep expertise in Teamcenter, MBOM creation, and tooling configuration control. In this role, you will serve as a technical anchor between product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and production operations—ensuring that manufacturing data, tool definitions, and workflows are accurate, optimized, and released on time.

You will play a key role in shaping how our manufacturing processes are configured, controlled, and scaled.

Duties and Responsibilities:

MBOM Ownership & Configuration

  • Develop, configure, and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) within Teamcenter.
  • Translate engineering EBOMs into production-ready MBOM structures.
  • Ensure alignment of MBOM content with design intent, manufacturing requirements, and configuration rules.
  • Validate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve BOM data accuracy and release workflows.

Tooling Management

  • Define, configure, and maintain tooling requirements within Teamcenter and associated manufacturing systems.
  • Work with manufacturing and industrial engineers to ensure tooling models, metadata, and lifecycle states are structured and controlled properly.
  • Support tooling change management and version control.

Teamcenter / PLM Process Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Teamcenter manufacturing modules (MBOM, MPP, BOP, MRL, etc.).
  • Create and refine PLM workflows, data standards, and best practices for manufacturing data.
  • Act as a technical advisor for system improvements, integrations, and process automation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with design engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure a cohesive product configuration strategy.
  • Lead or support cross-functional reviews for MBOM completeness, tooling readiness, and manufacturability.
  • Provide training and mentorship to engineers and technicians on Teamcenter manufacturing functions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline MBOM creation and tooling processes using PLM capabilities.
  • Drive improvements in data structure, version control, and change management efficiency.
  • Support digital manufacturing initiatives, standardization efforts, and system upgrades.

Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Education, Experience and Certifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, configuration management, or PLM engineering.
    • Expert-level proficiency with Siemens Teamcenter, especially manufacturing modules (e.g., MPP, MBOM, BOP).
    • Strong understanding of EBOM-to-MBOM transformation and configuration rules.
    • Experience with tooling definition, lifecycle management, and manufacturing documentation.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Skills and Abilities Preferred:
    • Experience in aerospace, automotive, complex assembly, or other highly configured product environments.
    • Familiarity with ERP integration, routing creation, or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
    • Knowledge of CAD/PLM integrations (NX preferred but not required).
    • Strong analytical skills and an automation mindset (e.g., scripting, data extraction, workflow optimization).

Role Classification and Working Conditions:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. This position typically works in an office environment; and given the nature of our business is also exposed to operations/warehouses/production environments.
