PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Use hand tools and be able to correctly setup and operate applicable shop machines.
- Perform TIG, laser, and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
- Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
FACILITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs entry-level welding techniques.
- Performs all finishing operations up to and including final enclosure assembly.
- Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools. May also perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machine.
- Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Skilled in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures.
- Set up and use of Laser Welder in a production environment preferred
- Knowledge of applicable codes.
- Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, TIG, and MIG controlled atmosphere, tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
- Program, set-up, and run weld jobs on robot welding machines utilizing FANUC controls.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
- Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
- Standing 65% of the time
- Overtime as needs of the business require
