Firefly is headquartered in Cedar Park, TX. Our Plumber role is located at our rocket ranch facility in Briggs, TX.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. Maintains the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures at all Texas sites.

Essential Duties

  • Repair and install plumbing fixtures and install drainage or overall plumbing service issues at all sites.
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Plan, install, and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment, and controls; test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Receive and complete work orders.
  • Select material and hardware and order materials that are required for the project or job at hand
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and back stock supplies
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with other teams to assist on team projects if need be.
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.

Other Representative Duties

  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Assist on other general maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

  • Safe working methods and procedures.
  • Methods, materials, techniques, tools, and equipment used in repair, maintenance, and construction work.
  • Basic computer skills, written emails, and use of procurement processes.
  • Use of ticket tracking system.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of local and state regulatory plumbing codes and requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material.
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.

License Requirement:

  • Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
  • Licensed Journeyman Plumber in the State of Texas is a plus but not required.
  • Other certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate hand and power-driven tools and equipment commonly used in the plumbing field.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to continually walk, stand, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, reach in all directions.
  • Ability to maintain balance working off the ground using ladders, scaffolds, and/or mechanical lifts
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside; exposed to heat and cold.
  • Ability to see and read with or without vision aids.
