SUMMARY

The Avionics Test Engineer is responsible for test and verification of the avionics system components. In this role you will be an integral part of the Avionics team in developing detailed test plans, designing test equipment, and managing the performance/execution of tests for product flight certifications.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Develop test plans and procedures for acceptance and qualification tests of electronic assemblies
  • Design and develop test equipment and harnesses to support testing
  • Develop detailed schedule and budget plans for package test and coordinate with outside test services for environmental testing
  • Work with test technicians to standardize and mistake proof production testing processes
  • Analyze and review test data to ensure that hardware is operating as expected; Use data analysis tools to interpret test results
  • Ensure all operations are performed on time, safely, and in accordance with the defined process

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience/understanding of hardware/software interfaces and reading schematics
  • Experience using standard lab test equipment, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes and DMMs
  • Familiarity with environmental test equipment including but not limited to: Thermal and thermal vacuum chamber and dynamic testing equipment
  • Ability to decompose product requirements into robust test plans, test procedures, and test reports
  • Ability to work independently with accelerated schedules
  • Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box
  • Ability to clearly communicate work instructions for technicians and engineers
  • Experience with designing test racks and rack enclosures
  • Experience writing test reports and test procedures
  • 25% travel required for this role

Desired

  • Experience in harness fabrication/design.
  • Experience testing to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461E, SMC-S-016, or other rigorous environmental testing and screening standards
  • Knowledge of one or more high-level general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to LabVIEW and Python
  • Negotiating compliance and conformance with external governing agencies
  • Direct experience with range safety agencies
