- The City of Cedar Park is currently seeking a Seasonal Aquatics Maintenance Specialist to provide support for maintenance operations at City operated aquatic facilities for the pool season.This position is a temporary position that will last from May 2025 through September 2025.
The Position
-
- Clean and maintain aquatic facilities in a safe and sanitary condition; monitor and adjust water balance and clarity, remove leaves and debris, empty skimmer and pump baskets, scrub tile and plaster, backwash filters, and other maintenance and cleaning at all aquatics facilities
- Operates machines and equipment like pool vacuums, pumps, leaf blowers, pressure washers, brushes, and hand tools
- Performs minor repairs to aquatics facilities and equipment
- Monitor inventory of chemical and maintenance supplies and coordinate orders with the Aquatics Supervisor
- Troubleshoot and repair pool equipment including but not limited to chemical feeders and automation systems, filters,
- Maintains records as required by the Parks and Recreation Department, City of Cedar Park, County and State.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
- High school graduation, or its equivalent preferred
One (1) year of experience in aquatics, pool maintenance, or a trade
Possess Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or equivalent certification, preferred
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays Supplemental Information
- Knowledge of: basic landscaping; applying herbicides and/or pesticides; the safe operation of the equipment used and of the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to operation of light and heavy motorized equipment; and basic plumbing.
Skill/Ability to: operate standard maintenance equipment applying safety standards to prevent hazards; understand and follow instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions; and maintain Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities and good driving record.
