How you’ll make an impact in this role

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is seeking a PRN Interventional Cardiologist to provide additional coverage and support for our established cardiovascular program in Harker Heights, Texas.

This PRN opportunity is ideal for an experienced Interventional Cardiologist seeking flexible supplemental work while supporting an established cardiovascular program and the acute cardiac needs of the Harker Heights community.

Position Highlights and Responsibilities

● Provide PRN Interventional Cardiology coverage based on the needs of the hospital and cardiovascular program.

● Evaluate and manage patients requiring inpatient cardiology and interventional cardiology consultation.

● Provide timely evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with acute coronary syndromes and other urgent cardiovascular conditions.

● Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, including:

● Diagnostic coronary angiography

● Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

● Coronary stent placement

● Other interventional procedures within the physician’s training and hospital privileges

● Provide coverage for urgent and emergent cardiac catheterization procedures, including STEMI patients when scheduled for coverage.

● Collaborate closely with the Emergency Department, hospitalists, cardiology providers, cath lab team, nursing staff, and other specialists to coordinate high-quality cardiovascular care.

● Participate in interventional cardiology call/coverage responsibilities as determined by the PRN schedule.

● Provide appropriate post-procedure management and follow-up for hospitalized cardiovascular patients.

● Complete clinical documentation and comply with hospital quality, safety, regulatory, and medical staff requirements.

● Support continuity of the cardiovascular service during periods of physician absence, increased patient volume, or other identified coverage needs.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
