How you’ll make an impact in this role
Execute Strategic Financial Clearance: Direct the end-to-end financial clearance process for high-value heart, bone marrow, and kidney transplant portfolios, guaranteeing 100% benefit optimization prior to clinical milestones.
Master High-Stakes Insurance Negotiations: Architect and secure complex Single Case Agreements (SCAs) and navigate elite transplant payer networks to eliminate out-of-network operational barriers.
Serve as an Interdisciplinary Financial Liaison: Act as the primary administrative conduit bridging transplant surgeons, clinical coordinators, social workers, insurance case managers, and payer medical directors.
Provide Compassionate Patient Financial Counseling: Educate patients and their support systems on long-term insurance nuances, life-long immunosuppressant drug financial expectations, and targeted out-of-pocket liabilities.
Orchestrate Socioeconomic Assistance Capture: Proactively screen and enroll eligible patients into state Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), institutional charity care, and specialized pharmaceutical copay assistance programs.
Drive Denial & Appeals Mitigation: Meticulously track, audit, and troubleshoot front-end insurance denials, partnering with clinical teams to draft high-priority appeals and protect the program's bottom line.
Enforce Data & Regulatory Integrity: Maintain precise documentation of all clearance statuses, authorization thresholds, and institutional metrics within the EMR in strict alignment with CMS and UNOS financial regulations.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
Specialized Financial Navigation Tenure: 3+ years of progressive experience in complex healthcare financial coordination, high-dollar pre-determination, or specialized insurance case management.
Payer Landscape Command: Deep, functional expertise navigating commercial insurance policies, managed care networks, state Medicaid protocols, and intricate prior authorization mechanisms.
Transplant Program Acumen (Preferred): Prior direct experience operating within a solid organ or bone marrow transplant program is highly desirable.
High-Velocity Caseload Management: Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to drive multiple high-priority, life-dependent cases forward in a high-volume, regulated setting.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
