How you’ll make an impact in this role

Monitor legislative changes affecting nursing practice standards and advise nursing leadership on matters related to nursing practice.

• Monitor standards of nursing practice established by the State Board of Nursing.
• Lead efforts in redesign of the nursing care delivery to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Provide consultative guidance regarding clinical practice to all areas.
• Monitor new legislative and regulatory issues that may directly/indirectly impact the practice of nursing; coordinate changes into policy/process and educate/monitor compliance as appropriate.
• Serve as an expert advisor for all levels of nursing particularly related to nursing scopes of practice.
• Investigate internal complaints or instances of RNs acting outside their scope of practice and report to board of nursing is necessary
• Lead jurisprudence classes

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Masters degree highly preferred
• Prior leadship experience highly preferred
