How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Architect Strategic Market Expansion: Identify and aggressively engage high-potential, out-of-network facilities to establish robust referral pipelines and consistently increase inbound patient transfer volume.

  • Drive Relationship Conversion & Retention: Cultivate high-value, long-term partnerships with rural hospitals, urgent care centers, and independent clinics to position our health system as the undisputed destination for complex specialty care.

  • Execute Data-Driven Growth Strategies: Analyze competitive leakage reports and regional referral patterns to pinpoint market gaps, implementing targeted outreach to recapture out-of-network surgical and inpatient cases.

  • Articulate the Clinical Value Proposition: Effectively communicate our system’s specialized capabilities, real-time bed availability, and streamlined transfer protocols to external providers to eliminate friction in the referral process.

  • Manage Regional Territory Operations: Lead local field outreach initiatives, requiring regional travel to non-Ascension sending sites to strengthen institutional ties and maintain a consistent market presence.

  • Optimize Transfer Logistics: Collaborate with internal clinical leadership to ensure that external "sending sites" experience a superior, value-added transition process for their patients.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • Superior Clinical Communication: The professional presence to engage with hospital administrators and physicians, explaining complex transfer protocols and specialized service lines with clarity.

  • Healthcare Systems Savvy: Deep understanding of hospital operations, out-of-network transitions, and the competitive healthcare landscape in the region.
