How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Emergency and Athletic Response: Provide expert basic and advanced life support to stabilize patients and athletes during acute injury or illness, ensuring rapid intervention and safety in high-stakes environments.
  • Protocol-Driven Interventions: Execute complex transport protocols and emergency treatments, providing continuous monitoring and real-time status updates to the receiving medical team.
  • Family Education & Advocacy: Provide specialized, population-specific education to patients and families regarding acute conditions and therapeutic interventions during the care cycle.
  • Field & Equipment Readiness: Maintain rigorous safety standards through the inspection and upkeep of emergency medical equipment, ensuring the constant readiness of the sports medicine response team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Emergency Medical Tech specializing in Paramedic credentialed from the Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • Experience with Athletes: Prior experience working with athletes or in an athletic setting is highly recommended. A strong understanding of the unique demands and dynamics of athletic environments is essential.
  • Independence and Accountability: Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Field or Event-Based Clinical Experience (Preferred): Experience providing clinical support at events or in field settings is not required but will be considered a strong asset.
  • Pediatric Experience (Preferred): Experience working with children or adolescents is a plus, especially in a clinical or athletic context.
