How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Orchestrate unit staffing and provide visionary leadership by directing, educating, and mentoring a multidisciplinary surgical team to achieve peak clinical performance.
• Evaluate daily patient needs to develop precise care assignments, ensuring population-appropriate care is delivered and productivity standards are consistently met.
• Proactively monitor patient outcomes and resolve care-related concerns through established channels, maintaining a culture of safety and high satisfaction.
• Drive the growth of the surgical department by providing critical input on hiring, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-achieving nursing staff.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Minimum 2 years OR experience strongly preferred
• Leadership experience strongly preferred
• Trauma experience strongly preferred
