Role Description:

As a Product & Application Specialist, you will act as the bridge between our customers, technical support, and product teams—driving performance, reliability, and innovation across our consumables and hardware platforms. This role blends hands-on fieldwork, application testing, benchmarking, customer support, and product lifecycle management for consumables business.

Key Responsibilities:

Color Development & Consumable Product Management

  • Lead formulation, testing, and optimization of color recipes for post-processing of AM parts.
  • Manage the product lifecycle of consumables (e.g., colorants, blasting media), including sourcing, pricing, testing, and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to validate new consumables across AMT’s systems.

Field Support & Customer Success

  • Provide field support for AMT and compatible systems, including on-site visits, remote diagnostics, and operational training.
  • Deliver Level 1 troubleshooting and technical support across all AMT hardware systems.
  • Ensure successful customer onboarding and usage of consumables through documentation, training, and field feedback collection.

Benchmarking & Application Engineering

  • Own and manage the benchmarking process, including sample test runs, performance tracking, and documentation for internal teams and customer presentations.
  • Support application engineering team with technical testing, customer communication, and special projects as needed.

Customer Support

  • Be the first line of support for customers using AMT consumables; resolve issues, escalate when needed, and proactively collect feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain clear and professional documentation of all support activities using internal ticketing or CRM tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in additive manufacturing, 3D printing post-processing, or technical product support.
  • Strong hands-on skills with lab or field testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of polymers, colorants, or surface finishing processes is a strong plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%) for customer support and field deployments.
